The new Clinical Support and Research Centre (CSRC) adjacent to Vancouver’s new St. Paul’s Hospital will be a 13-storey building with approximately 398,000 square feet of space. It’ll host medical professionals, researchers, and innovators in biotechnology, clinical science, pharmaceuticals, and digital health. The lower floors will include public and retail spaces, a childcare center, and medical offices, while the upper levels will focus on administrative offices, innovation centers, and research labs. Existing research programs like the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation and the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS will relocate to the CSRC.

The total cost of the CSRC construction is estimated at $638.3M, shared between the Province, Providence Health Care, St. Paul’s Foundation, and the ChildCare BC New Spaces Program. Construction on the main hospital is set for completion in 2027, with no specified timeline for the CSRC. Public comments on the development application are open until May 10.
