After years of preparation, the groundbreaking for a significant industrial park project in Kamloops has finally commenced. Comet Industries is converting a former mine site into a 190-acre light industrial park in the Iron Mask area. The project, led by company president Mike O’Reilly, is expected to take about a year and a half to flatten the site before lots are ready for sale by fall 2025.

O’Reilly emphasized the importance of this project for Kamloops, addressing the pressing need for light industrial commercial space in the city. With the rezoning permit secured and years of geotechnical studies and design work completed, Comet is now focusing on earthworks to prepare fee-simple lots for sale.

The industrial park, named Iron Mask, will offer approximately 140 acres of lots for sale to light industrial users, with high demand expected from sectors like light manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution. To ensure the development meets the needs of future tenants, Comet has launched a survey to gather feedback for fine-tuning the project.
