The historic Regent Theatre in Toronto, purchased in January 2022 by Terra Bruce Productions for $7.4 million, is undergoing a major revival. The project features plans for impressive changes to transform the neglected 97-year-old theatre into a vibrant venue. Led by COO Bob Hallet, one of the founding members of Great Big Sea, the project has garnered excitement with initial renderings by NORR Architects and Hariri Pontarini Architects.

Despite delays, including a heritage designation in November 2022 and updated plans in 2023, the renovation promises a blend of old charm and modern amenities. Plans include a new basement, replacement walls, roof, and a three-storey addition at the rear.  The restored auditorium will feature warm wood finishes and host Canadian musical theatre productions, concerts, films, and more. While warmly received, the project awaits final approvals from City planners, leaving locals eagerly anticipating its completion.
