Burnaby’s Brentwood Block, a master-planned community by UK-based developer Grosvenor, has received final approval from the city council. Spanning 7.9 acres near Brentwood Town Centre Station, this project will deliver nearly 3,500 housing units, including Western Canada’s tallest all-rental tower at 63 storeys.

The development will unfold in two phases. Phase One, focused on the western half, includes 1,731 units spread across three towers: 43-storey condos, 54-storey market rentals, and 63-storey mixed rentals. Phase Two, on the eastern half, will add 1,745 units in three towers: 63-storey mixed rentals, 58-storey market rentals, and 44-storey condos. Both phases incorporate retail spaces and a seven-storey community centre operated by the city.

Grosvenor emphasizes a pedestrian-focused design, with underground parking and extensive green spaces, trails, and cycling routes. The development aims to exceed Burnaby’s sustainability requirements, targeting net zero emissions by 2030 through energy-efficient building designs. Grosvenor is also committing $8M towards public art.
