The BC provincial government has pledged $25 million towards the expansion of Vitalus Nutrition’s milk production plant in Abbotsford. Set to commence this summer and conclude by 2026, the project will upgrade the existing facility to a 143,500-square-foot plant, surpassing the initially planned 99,000 square feet. This expansion aims to create over 230 jobs, supporting an additional 3,000 indirect positions in and around Abbotsford. The larger plant is expected to boost local milk production by 50%, meeting domestic demand and facilitating exports of specialty dairy products.

Premier David Eby highlighted the significance of this investment in terms of food security, job creation, and economic growth, particularly in light of climate change challenges.
