Seniors and families in Kamloops will soon have access to 80 affordable rental homes, with construction starting on a new development at 346 Campbell Ave. Named “The Confluence”, this six-storey building is set to be completed by early 2026. It represents a collaborative effort by the BC province, BC Housing, the City of Kamloops, and ASK Wellness Society, which will manage the property.

Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Housing, highlighted the need for affordable housing in Kamloops due to its growing population. The Confluence will support the city’s development and aid families and seniors with low to moderate incomes. It will offer 20 one-bedroom, 45 two-bedroom, and 15 three-bedroom units, with 20% being accessible. Each home will have its own balcony. Rent details will be announced closer to the project’s completion.

The Province, through BC Housing, is investing around $9 million in this project via the Community Housing Fund, along with annual operating funding. This initiative is part of a broader $19-billion housing investment by the B.C. government, which has delivered or started nearly 78,000 homes since 2017, including nearly 1,800 in Kamloops.
