Tsawwassen First Nation (TFN) is expanding its jurisdiction by incorporating 11 parcels of land near Brunswick Point into its territory, demonstrating reconciliation in action. This move follows the Tsawwassen First Nation Final Agreement, signed in 2009 with Canada and BC, allowing TFN to reclaim historically governed lands. While currently under the City of Delta’s jurisdiction, the parcels will transition to TFN’s authority, though remaining in the Agriculture Land Reserve (ALR). Agriculture holds cultural significance for TFN, emphasizing food security and sustainability.

Collaboration with lessees and the City of Delta ensures smooth transitions, while TFN plans to uphold property taxation and regulations. TFN’s partnership with Canada, BC, and regional stakeholders facilitates this process, fostering stronger relationships and honoring TFN’s heritage.
