Surrey saw a 40% rise in overall residential permits during the first nine months of 2024, driven by a 53% increase in multi-family housing permits, including low- and high-rise apartments. Single-family home construction, however, dropped by 22%. Non-residential permits, particularly in industrial, commercial, and institutional categories, also increased.
