5 Towers Approved for Iconic Telus Boot Site in Burnaby

The Telus Boot office tower site in Burnaby will be redeveloped into a mixed-use development called Central Park Commons. City council approved the plan, which includes five new towers up to 64 storeys tall and providing approximately 2,535 homes and 43,000 sq. ft. of commercial space. Phase one will deliver two market rental towers.

The Royal Oak site, featuring a Best Western Plus Hotel, will undergo significant renovations, and redevelopment is planned in the long run. At the Metrotown site, Bosa plans a 40-storey rental tower with 418 units.

Vancouver’s I4 Property Group Faces Insolvency on 2 Projects

Vancouver-based I4 Property Group faces insolvency on two condo and townhome projects, Siena in Burnaby and 8and8 in New Westminster. Desjardins Group initiated receivership for the $17.7M Siena debt. Blueshore Financial foreclosed on 8and8, with a $2.47M debt. The 8and8 site has been listed for $3,649,000.

Gilmore Place Phase 2 Pivots From Office to Residential

The Gilmore Place project's Phase 2 plans have shifted from a 37-storey office tower to a 65-storey residential tower near SkyTrain Gilmore Station due to poor office market conditions. Tower 4 will now feature 509 condominiums and 250 below-market rentals. This phase will include a 52-storey Tower 5 and 47-storey Tower 6.

U.S. Investor Sells Major Stake in The Amazing Brentwood

U.S.-based L Catterton Real Estate has sold its 35% stake in Burnaby's The Amazing Brentwood. This is one of the largest master-planned developments in North America. The project spans 28 acres, integrating 8.5 million sq. ft. of residential, commercial, and public transit. Details of the buyer and purchase price remain undisclosed.

Anthem Proposes 45-Storey Tower for Phase 2 of South Yards

Anthem is moving forward with Phase Two of South Yards in Burnaby, introducing a 45-storey tower at 4587 Juneau Street. This phase will feature 495 units, including 45 affordable rentals. The final buildout of this project will feature 2,567 homes across eight buildings, 60,000 sq. ft. of retail and office space, and a one-acre park.
