Almost 90% of BC municipalities have adopted provincial legislation to reform zoning rules and boost small-scale multi-unit housing. Out of 188 local governments, 162 have passed bylaws, with nine more in progress. Local governments had until June 30 to update zoning bylaws to support this initiative, which aims to provide more housing options.
